OK.. You can now be beheaded for innocently using a satellite phone in rural Afghanistan. But if you look like an Afghan in downtown NYC or Newark or an airport and are using a satellite phone how much police attention would you merit? And might you not end up at Gitmo?
And who really wants to talk to the US about a war anyway? Didn't we spend 17 mo's talking to the NVA about the shape of a table? gwb

TSB: With no internet at DOD what is plan B for a terrorist attack or Russian bombers?.... gwb

DOD's internet is down? I will volunteer to relay messages to the Pentagon using semaphore flags on the roof of my Arlington office building. Or with an Aldis lamp and Morse code. This is a national emergency.

Good Job TSB! I see you got them working again this morning. gwb

TSB: I think this one's a real eye roller: US: Pakistan delaying Afghan pull-out
By RFE/RL
The US military's top transport commander says overland cargo routes through Pakistan must be reopened to North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) for the United States to complete its pullout from Afghanistan by the end of 2014.
It looks like we are begging Pakistan to open up the border so we can get the hell out! gwb

If we can't take our heavy equipment out overland, then I guess we could have a real big bonfire in Afghanistan before the troops fly out. But, what could we use for kindling?

Good question! I think they are almost out of toilet paper. Maybe we could "thin" our mis-managed forests and ship it over as foreigh aid? No sense destroying good equipment. Let them use it for low income housing. gwb

TSB: Washington State (the land of the bland) totally fooled me yesterday. They turned out in record numbers, shrugged shoulders, stared at shoes and overwhelmingly voted for MITT!

They see huge tax increases coming next year from anyone else and Mitt just gives them that Aqua Velva feeling. gwb
